MINO, CAUSEWAY BAY

 

It is a small boutique shop in a narrow street in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The design starts from question of how to stand out from thousands of small boutiques in this shopping area.  In order to draw pedestrian attention from the street, the store front is manipulated in three dimensional forms. The curve façade attracts pedestrian from far.  

Inside the store, a tree-like shape wooden screen served as space divider. The tree- like shape responds to the unique site characteristics of Hong Kong- ‘concrete forest’. The tree-like screen mimics the nature of green which imposed back to the city. The branches of tree-shape screen becomes area of display and decorative shapes.
