ONE STUDIO, JORDON
The client is a young couple who would like to create their first home (420 sq. ft) within the heart of the city center, Jordan, Hong Kong. As requested by the Japanese client, the design has been inspired by Japanese modern house methodology – simplicity and elegant.
The original two bedroom layout has been change to a master bedroom with a spacious bathroom.
In order to make use of space, a closet and the tv shelf is used as a partition instead of a block wall to separating the living room and bedroom.
Extra storages/cabinet has been created to match with the needs from the client. The arrangement and detail design of the closet and storages has been highly considered match with Japanese modern style.
The layout works with the daylight. Daylight is distributed evenly in each space that each room including bathroom has three set of windows from various direction. As quote from Louis I Khan ‘…marvelous in a room is the light that comes through the windows of a room and that belongs to the room. The sun does not realize how beautiful it is until after a room is made.’
